The headline act, Joe Tex, failed to appear, so Weather Report, which was in town at the Esquire Show Bar, was asked to fill in. According to a newspaper account, they played one tune before leaving the stage as the audience, which expected to hear Joe Tex, left en masse. In any event, this may be the only date on which Weather Report performed at two different venues.
